Have you ever wanted to disable USB Ports on a friend's computer, just for fun? Or you want to lend your beloved laptop to your friend, but don't want him to do nasty stuff on it like copying some malware to it from his pen drive? Well, with the following trick, you can do that in a matter of seconds, and it's pretty straightforward! :)
=>First of all, start your Windows system and login as an Administrator (Guest user is not an Admin). We are using Windows 8, but this trick will work on other versions too, as all Windows OS use regedit as their registry editor.
=>Click on Windows Icon and then type regedit. Click on the first item that appears. It will ask for permissions, just click Yes.

On older versions of Windows, go to Start->Run. Type regedit and press Enter. It will open the registry editor.
CAUTION:The data inside regedit is sensitive. Do NOT make any changes unless specified here, or you may damage your system.
=>On the left pane, you will see different headings such HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT,HKEY_CURRENT_USER etc. Click on the arrow next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. This will show the options inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
=>From there, go to System -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> USBSTOR.

=>Double click on the Start file that appears on the right side. In the Value Data: Text field, the default value is 3. Change it to 4 and click OK.

Now right click on Desktop, refresh your system and it's done! Try plugging in a USB Drive. You will see that it won't be shown in My Computer, nor does the system notify you when it is connected.
=>To re-enable it, change the value in the above Start file back to 3.
Use this trick at your own risk. Don't blame us if your friend breaks your head :P
